Milliea Taylor McKinney Continues to Prove That Music Can Change Lives

For Milliea Taylor McKinney, songwriting has never been just about creating melodies and memorable lyrics. It has always been about purpose. The internationally recognized songwriter, author, and music executive has dedicated her career to crafting songs that inspire hope, encourage healing, and remind listeners of the power music has to bring people together. Known affectionately as "The Wordsmith," the Northern Kentucky native has built a legacy rooted in authenticity, compassion, and a commitment to making a difference through her art. Now, she looks ahead to the release of two exciting new projects, We Are Hope and My Heart Beats for You, both of which reflect the heart and passion that have defined her remarkable journey.

Milliea first discovered her place in the music industry when she began writing for Brandon Hills Music and Jandar Records under the guidance of CEO Marsha Brown. Her ability to tell stories through song quickly opened doors, allowing her to write and audition material for established country artists. She later teamed up with songwriter Renee Beach to form the writing partnership French Country, further establishing herself as a gifted lyricist with a distinctive voice. Over the years, her talent has earned international recognition, including Song of the Year honors, worldwide honorable mentions, and the prestigious distinction of being celebrated as a Hall of Fame Songwriter.

Beyond her achievements as a songwriter, Milliea has become a respected force behind the scenes of the music business. As the founder and CEO of M.I.A. Music In Arrangement Publishing BMI LLC, as well as Conscious Music Entertainment, MRTEntertainment, and MIA Publishing, she has devoted herself to helping artists grow and succeed. Her experience spans artist development, publicity, promotion, publishing, and talent representation, making her a trusted mentor and advocate for creatives navigating an ever evolving industry.

Much of Milliea's work has been driven by her desire to use music as a source of encouragement and positive change. She co wrote Living In Unity alongside student Jenny Trindall, creating a message of love and support for those facing hardship. Her songs Music Can Heal the World and We Are Hope were recorded by Sheila Raye Charles, daughter of the legendary Ray Charles, extending her message of hope to audiences around the globe. Her composition Ariel's Rising was also recognized as part of a project celebrating fifty women whose efforts continue to impact lives and communities in meaningful ways. Drawing from her background as an educator, she remains passionate about music education, mentorship, and empowering future generations through creativity.

As she prepares to share We Are Hope and My Heart Beats for You with listeners, Milliea Taylor McKinney stands as a reminder that success is measured not only by awards and accomplishments, but by the lives touched along the way. Through every song she writes and every artist she encourages, she continues to lead with kindness, purpose, and an unwavering belief in the healing power of music. Her story is still being written, and its most inspiring chapters may yet be ahead.
