Feifei Yang, an acclaimed musician, performer, and innovative arts entrepreneur, has released her latest masterpiece, the music video for 'Are You the One.' Recognized by Sinovision as “The Chinese Huqin Girl Stepping into Hollywood,” Yang is a virtuoso on the Huqin (Banhu and Erhu) and a talented vocalist, making waves in the global music and entertainment industries.
Yang has graced prestigious venues and institutions such as Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the Barclays Center, the United Nations, Summer Stage, New York Fashion Week, and the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in New York. Her expertise has also been sought as a judge for several competitions, including China Central Television’s (CCTV) China Youth Talent Show Contests, the Fifth Annual American Youth Talent and Art Contests, and China's National Youth Music Competition in Liaoning Province. In 2017, she received dual Global Music Awards for Female Vocalist and Popular Music. Additionally, she appeared on the Emmy Award-winning TV show We Speak New York.
Yang's journey with the Huqin, a traditional Chinese two-stringed fiddle, began at the age of nine in northeast China. In 2003, she was the sole Banhu student admitted to the Shenyang Conservatory of Music. Her outstanding achievements earned her the title of Outstanding Graduate Student across all colleges in Liaoning province, and in 2007, she became the first person to receive a Master's degree in Banhu from the Conservatory. Yang has won numerous accolades, including first place in the AWZG Chinese Young Artists Talent Selection and the Best Creativity Award in CCTV's “Chinese New Year Gala” U.S. Talent Hunt. She holds additional Master's degrees in Education from Adelphi University and Arts and Cultural Management from the Pratt Institute. Yang is also a member of the Chinese Musician’s Association and the Liaoning Traditional Chinese Orchestral Music Association.
