JLJ was raised in Houston, and his passion for the local area is powerful and clear to see. However, it’s his music that really inspires him to grow and develop his career; indeed, ever since he began releasing mixtapes on the streets, he has always been determined to make his career – and, critically, make a name all for himself, without having to rely on becoming someone’s artist or signing with a big brand.
This unique approach is something that makes JLJ’s work incredibly inspiring, and we strongly think it contributes a certain charm and magic to his work overall. Indeed, his authenticity helps make JLJ’s work dramatic and moving, and it’s hard not to be intrigued by his sound accordingly.
As part of his goal to stand up for himself, JLJ formed E-lete Artist Records alongside his good friend, D Sheezy. This would offer numerous new opportunities, further helping JLJ establish his sound and career.
